**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program and Mental Health and Addictions Program, the **Manager of the Child and Youth Mental Health** **Program** provides leadership within the Mental Health program, facilitating the delivery of quality, patient focused care and the provision of a safe working environment for nurses, physicians and the interdisciplinary team. The Child and Youth Mental Health Program Manager is accountable and responsible for the efficient and effective management and utilization of approved financial, human, capital and material resources. In this position the Manager will be responsible for the 8-bed Regional Child and Youth Inpatient Unit, the Section 23 Outpatient Classroom and Outpatient Mental Health Services with the opportunity to lead projects and specialty clinics. The Manager will support the planning and achievement of departmental goals and objectives aligned with RVH’s strategic priorities. As a leader with integrity, you will be responsible to build and promote trust within the Mental Health Program, including engaging employees and sustaining positive relationships as well as participating in hospital-wide initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible to promote, sustain and create Regional and Provincial working relationships at all levels of patient care.

**Education**:

- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario or current registration with other applicable regulated health
professional College of Ontario
- Current CNA Mental Health Certification or equivalent preferred
- Baccalaureate preparation in a health-related field essential
- Master's preparation in a health-related field preferred

**Experience**:

- 5 years’ experience in an acute mental health setting
- Experience in child and youth mental health: acute or outpatient services an asset
- Minimum 2 years health care management experience required
- Experience in effective collaborative relationships with external groups associated with the child and youth mental health programming, both regionally and provincially

**Competencies**:

- Thorough understanding of the MHA required, demonstrated ability to implement evidence-based practices, demonstrated evidence of continuing professional development
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
