Reporting to the Acting Director, HR, Communications & Logistics, the Creative Communications Specialist will lead corporate internal and external communications and develop and implement communication strategies. The incumbent will specialize in graphic design to create and maintain brand identity, marketing and promotional materials, and cohesive content, messaging and visuals.

**Your Role**:

- Develop internal and external communications strategies and plans to support MHI’s objectives and by producing timely and effective communications.
- Responsible for the concept, design and development of a wide variety of graphic design projects.
- Ability to conceptualize and lead production on strategic campaign creatives.
- Design and produce proof of concepts on digital, social media, advertising, content marketing, print etc.
- Ensure consistency of MHI’s visual identity across all platforms and materials.
- Collaborate with external vendors on projects such as engaging advertisements, videos, and webinars to showcase and promote MHI’s products and services, and manage smaller projects or tasks as needed.
- Responsible for the concept, design, and development of a wide variety of graphic design projects, including booth and exhibition banners, and design files for events.
- Provide expertise and support in writing, editing and producing consistent and quality communications content.
- Undertake research and prepare messaging to address current and emerging reputational issues.
- Provide functional support for the project and business development staff with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Maintain electronic systems for maintenance records, product data, correspondence, procedures, manuals, processes, budgets in a current and accurate manner.
- Interact and communicate with Manitoba Hydro stakeholders and MHI staff for presentations and project coordination as required.

**About You**:

- A four-year degree in Communications or Public Relations from an institute of recognized standing and a minimum of two years of directly related experience in Communications, Public Relations and/or Creative Communications.

OR
- Two-year diploma in Creative Communications from an institute of recognized standing and minimum four years related experience.
- Additional courses in Graphic Design from an institute of recognized standing.
- Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and InDesign.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication skills including excellent business English, written and grammatical, spelling, typing, proof-reading and ability to understand and respond to written and oral instructions.
- Experience working in external communications, including media relations, advertising, public consultations and event planning.
- Significant experience and knowledge of various production services including photography, graphic design, video production, print and web publishing.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out detailed organizational assignments including developing a variety of complex communication and performing administrative duties where the set-up is not standardized or not well defined.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work in close cooperation with all levels of the organization and with external contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver communications within assigned deadlines.
- Demonstrated superior ability to use office support systems, such as the Microsoft Office Suite of products and willingness and capacity to learn other electronic databases and software as required.
- Ability to plan and organize work, assess priorities and work under stressful conditions.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with security.
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to assess, plan, organize and execute a variety of concurrent tasks effectively with minimum supervision.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or French would be considered an asset.

Pay: $67,867.36-$93,907.78 per year
