**Marketing Communications Officer for Special Olympics Ontario**
**Position Overview**:
The Marketing Communications Officer (MCO) at Special Olympics Ontario is pivotal in enhancing the organization's brand presence and communication efforts. This dynamic role involves creating engaging visual content, managing comprehensive marketing campaigns, and supporting both internal and external communications. Reporting to the Manager, Brand & Communications, the MCO will collaborate with core staff responsible for fundraising and event management, and work closely with the program side of the organization, including School & Youth Team, the GTA Team, Sports & Competitions Team, and other key stakeholders.
This exciting position requires a commitment to creativity and a high level of energy. The MCO will play a key role in executing effective marketing strategies and communication initiatives, contributing to a positive and energetic workplace where staff feed off each other’s enthusiasm and drive.
This is a one year contract. **Are you up for the challenge?**
**Main Responsibilities**:
- **Graphic Design**: Design high-quality visual materials for print and digital media, including promotional assets, marketing collateral, internal documents, newsletters, and fundraising campaigns.
- **Content Creation**: Produce compelling content for various communication channels, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
- **Internal Communications**: Create and manage internal communication materials, such as letterheads, business tools, and newsletters, to support engagement across the organization.
- **Newsletter Management**: Design, create, and publish monthly provincial newsletters using platforms like Constant Contact.
- **Fundraising Platform Support**: Manage communications for SOO’s online fundraising platform (Crowd Change), including creating event pages, generating reports, and providing user support.
- **Project Management**: Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals and deadlines.
**Core Competencies**:

- **Effective Communication**: Capable of conveying complex marketing and communication concepts clearly.

- **Technical Proficiency**: Advanced knowledge of graphic design software, marketing automation tools, and content management systems.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
**Experience**: 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, and communications, with a strong emphasis on creating visual content and managing marketing campaigns.
**Skills**:
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Knowledge of social media management tools and digital advertising strategies.
- Strong portfolio showcasing marketing campaigns, promotional materials, newsletters, and other communication materials.
**Work Environment and Physical Demands**:
- The position may involve occasional travel to various locations for events or meetings. Ability to lift materials up to 25 pounds may be required.
