**The Opportunity**

Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of the business’ financial report and a variety of supporting analyses. Maintains an appropriate control environment while carrying out all day to day activities.

**The Role**

Lead and oversee the transition of the “close the books” aspects of the Equipment, Rental and Service Operations functions by:

- Hiring, overseeing and coordinating resources who prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting ensuring that all deadlines are met
- Overseeing and monitoring the analysis of monthly operating results against forecast and prior periods and flagging any issues (financial or other) to appropriate parties within Finance and the broader organization where relevant
- Ensuring accurate and timely accounting records are kept for all relevant GLs under the scope of activity
- Ensuring regulatory compliance of all financial reports with Government requirements (i.e., sales taxes, etc) and Bill 198
- Overseeing the timely preparation and review of a variety of weekly financial reports, including KPI reports, cash flow, and daily ad hoc reports.
- Preparing monthly management reporting package, including financial and operational analysis, and corporate results commentary
- Deploying, wherever possible, changes to current processes in order to harmonize with the accounting policies and procedures across the organization
- University Degree, Professional accounting designation obtained through a recognized Canadian accounting association (CPA-CA, CPA-CGA, CPA-CMA) or equivalent preferred
- 5-10 years direct experience relating to the month end close activities of a company
- **I**n depth knowledge of ERP systems, internal controls ,finance processes. Experience relating to administration of sales tax reporting and compliance would be an asset.
