Based in Vancouver, we design, build, and operate hydrogen fuel supply solutions to support the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. Every day, we’re delivering safe, reliable, convenient, sustainable, and low-cost hydrogen to customers and consumers, how, when, and where they need it.
Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator will provide warehouse and project support to all departments across the business. This role will be located within the warehouse location and serve as the main point of contact for all visitors and inquiries.
HTEC operates one permanent warehouse and multiple job sites across the Lower Mainland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Coordination
- Overall management and organization of warehouse facility, equipment, materials, and the yards, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Receive materials and parts into inventory/stock, arrange for items to move between designated locations, and locate/pick material to/from warehouse location as required.
- Effectively maintains the security of warehouse inventory and equipment.
- Ensures MSDS compliance for all chemicals stored.
- Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices; follow all HTEC health and safety policies and procedures along with standard operating procedures and regulations.
- Unload, inspect, receive, and upload all relevant shipping documents in the purchase order system, and record all transactions as required.
- Collaborate with team members within procurement and quality to resolve quality issues and non-compliance by suppliers including inadequate quality documentation.
- Expedite the delivery of materials and replenish some inventory and consumable items including ordering supplies for the staff kitchen.
- Setup new part numbers and other relevant master data.
- Recommend inventory levels/ROP strategy changes or new parts to be stocked.
- Reconcile discrepancies and damage with vendors, transportation carriers, accounts payable and procurement team, as required.
- Timely kitting and staging of all materials required for planned and corrective maintenance of assets based on WO execution timelines.
Logistics:
- Collaborate with procurement team and relevant business teams to determine appropriate transportation methods, coordinate pickup and delivery of materials with local, national, and international freight carriers, custom brokers, and vendors.
- Manage the end-to-end shipping process of orders for outgoing and incoming products; may be required to drive to sites with parts on occasion.
- Support logistic needs of project teams by way of organizing specialty equipment (cranes, lifts, etc.) and ensuring that all Health and Safety policies are in compliance.
- Collaborate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule shipments and ensure established terms are kept.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governing bodies and accurate record-keeping.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
- Track all shipments and provide timely and accurate information to appropriate teams regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing incoming & outgoing logistics, including customs regulations for international shipments.
- Address and resolve issues related to shipping discrepancies, damages, and other logistics-related challenges.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Sales & Marketing, Construction, Procurement, Stations & Fleet Operations, and warehouse operations, to streamline processes and enhance overall logistics efficiency.
- Proactively seek opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and overall improvement in outbound logistics operations.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to get KPI data and report on it weekly/monthly/quarterly.
- Reviews claims against carriers for shipping losses or in transit damages.
- Decision making based on department KPI’s.
- Help manage warehouse/freight vendors with Manager with onsite support.
- Collaborate with procurement team to arrange return of incorrect, damaged, and obsolete parts to appropriate vendors as required.
- Conduct inventory audits and cycle count functions, investigate and reconciles discrepancies.
