Research Assistant, Combinatorics On Words

Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.

**Position Overview**:
Work to solve open problems in combinatorics on words, reading papers, solving exercises, writing programs.

**Duties**:

- Perform academic research.
- Create and typeset exercise solutions.
- Assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations.
- Perform computations related to combinatorics on words.

**Qualifications**:

- A variety of undergraduate math courses.
- Some computer courses preferred. GPA of 4+.
- Ability to read and write mathematical proofs.
- Ability to write simple programs.

**Condition(s) of Employment**:

- **Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.**

The period of work will be from **May 2, 2025 - August 29, 2025**and the estimated total hours of work will be **0-560 hours**.
