Head Brewer

BSB Brewing is looking to hire a HEAD BREWER. We are a four year old brewery inside a well-established pub that has been open since 1980. We are a family owned and operated business. We are proud of our team and are excited to expand and grow our brewery. We have a 5hL brewhouse with new equipment.

**ROLE**: This is a full-time, salaried position in our company. This role has a competitive wage and comprehensive benefits, paid parking, complimentary meals and other perks. You report directly to the owners and coordinate recipes and tank space with their direction. Salary is negotiable based on credentials and experience.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
As our only Brewer, you are responsible for all aspects of the brewery and oversee the entire brewing process, are in charge of all raw materials, as well as maintaining the safe and effective running of the brewery and equipment/machinery. You would consistently ensure quality and efficiency across all brewery processes and production. In addition to brewing; facility operations, general care and maintenance will be a large portion of your role.

You are responsible for quality control, production targets, and consistent development/innovation of new beer recipes and products, as well as maintaining care and quality of current recipes in our line up, including selecting ingredients, creating unique beer recipes for new beers, preparing beer mixtures, and overseeing fermenting and kegging processes, and canning when applicable. You have previous recipe formulation experience.

As an organized person, you will create a scheduling system for beer production to fit the needs of the pub and any additional sales. You will work with management to create realistic budgets for beer production, monitor budgets and spending forecast production and costs, to maintain availability and distribution requirements as needed. You will need to maintain meticulous records of all brewing and brewery related processes day to day.

Additionally, you would be responsible to maintain accurate records for AGLC and Federal Excise for our office team to file/submit.

Health, sanitation and cleanliness is of utmost importance to BSB Brewing and you as our Brewer must ensure machinery is correctly maintained and sanitized before and after use. You will ensure the brewery is extremely clean and complies with the highest standards and be vigilant when it comes to workplace hygiene and cleanliness.

As the Head Brewer for BSB Brewing you would possess the ability to be creative with existing and new beer styles to create unique and popular products for our rotating/seasonal line up.

**BEYOND BREWING**:You would be required to represent the brewery and pub at events, marketing and at additional sales opportunities both on and off-site throughout the year. You would contribute to the standards, culture and vision of both BSB Brewing and Bottlescrew Bill’s Pub.

You would maintain excellent relationships with all vendors and suppliers for both the brewery and the pub and would work together with the pub leadership team, customer relationships and staff training.

The Head Brewer may need to develop training and mentorship programs at the brewery to create and improve the skills of brewing assistant(s) when needed and ensure they are performing their roles adequately.
