**Position Summary**

Reporting to Manager, Nutrition and Dietary Services, the incumbent will be providing basic to intermediate levels of nutrition care to all residents. The Nutrition and Dietary Services staff will be under the incumbent’s supervision.

**Main Duties**
- Develop nutritional care programs for residents by nutritional screening and assessing protocols to identify and monitor residents at low and moderate nutritional risk levels;
- Supervise all procedures of resident meal service to ensure required standards are maintained;
- Monitor food services to residents to ensure that all food handling practices meet guidelines for quality, safety and sanitation;
- Establish coding for RAI programs and creation of RAP reports;
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan for the Nutrition and Dietary Services;
- Communicate residents’ nutritional needs to production staff and service staff;
- Assist in menu planning, catering functions and nutrient analysis;
- Control inventory and purchases of food to maintain adequate stock while controlling costs;
- Prepare purchase orders for food items to be purchased from regulated and approved sources;
- Organize and participate in in-service training activity as appropriate;
- Work in multiple locations;
- Other duties might be assigned from time to time.
- This is a part-time position.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education in Food and Nutrition Management from a recognized Community College or University;
- Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management;
- One-year working experience in long-term care facility; supervisory experience required;
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic nutrition as it relates to the needs of the long-term care population;
- Background knowledge of the dietary needs of Chinese residents in Long Term Care facility;
- Ability to work independently without supervision and exercise initiation and judgment;
- Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being of long-term care residents;
- Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and the disabled;
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese are preferable.
