This position is located at site in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (MB), and is available for hybrid work.

The procurement specialist is responsible for overseeing both suppliers and internal customers mainly Maintenance and Engineering department to fulfill the requirements of Roquette Canada Ltd with respect to the Procurement Policy and prequalification process to provide the necessary goods and services. The position will be in charge of Large Project called CAPEX (purchasing activities) and plant improvement investment (PXB).

In addition to the project purchasing activities, this position will oversee the onsite contractors (Services providers such as Mechanical, Piping, Scaffolding, Electrical) that are providing on site services mainly for maintenance team and for projects.

This position required high autonomy, responsiveness, being able to manage numerous topics at the same time, being able to prioritize critical topics and activities, challenge internal customers to disrupt habits to create value for Roquette, ensure that quality and lead time are respected while guarantee the best price for Roquette. This job will also necessitate a close collaboration with all members of the Supply Chain as well as payable, plant stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate the supplier payment.

**Essential Functions**
- Procure goods and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
- Being able to organize weekly meeting to follow all purchasing activities for project large Capex & PXB.

- Revise, update and issue Purchase Orders
- Monitor lead times and expedite problems with suppliers regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of products and services purchased
- Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and invoice discrepancies
- Negotiate pricing, delivery/shipping costs, credit terms and discounts
- Reporting of all saving & contract in appropriate tools.
- Work within negotiated global agreements where possible
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers domestic and international
- Source new suppliers to meet project expectations
- Obtain and analyze competitive quotes/evaluate quotations and select qualified Suppliers
- Work closely with internal customers to understand their requirements and provide direction
- Proven ability to assess and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Long Term agreements (LTAs) and Contracts for production, capital equipment and operations
- Special projects or additional tasks as required
- Manage supplier payment in collaboration with payable services.
- Bring value to roquette by creating an environment of competition between suppliers.
- Disrupt habit in order to bring value to roquette.

**Education**

Bachelor's degree or minimum 5+ years' progressive experience within procurement, production planning and/or supply chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience

**Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of managing raw materials and contract manufacturing across the plant.
