In our ever-changing environment, the External Relations team is accountable for the development and execution of YVR’s public affairs program—and manages relationships with all levels of government, stakeholders and communities in relation to YVR operations, initiatives and projects.

**Position Overview**

The **Manager, Government Relations**is a high-achieving, connected and experienced individual who will advocate for YVR’s interests and navigate complex government regulations and policies. You will build strong relationships with key government officials at all levels, work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and play a key role in shaping the future of one of Canada's busiest and most innovative airports.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage effective government relations programs around complex projects and keep elected officials informed on emerging issues, policies and corporate priorities
- Provides advice and recommendations to senior leaders and executives; facilitates meetings for the CEO and senior leaders with elected officials, communities, and stakeholders
- Drive public affairs efforts and act as YVR’s key point of contact for elected officials
- Build strong collaborative relationships with other organizations, including member organizations and senior government officials
- Collaborate with broader external relations team to ensure continuity between advocacy efforts, Indigenous relations and external communications
- Provide policy and advocacy support as required for our federal and international government relations efforts

**Key Qualifications**
- Over five years of related experience in in community, stakeholder, or government relations, supplemented by a university degree in public relations, political science, public administration, or a related field
- Experience in a large public organization is preferred
- Exceptional relationship management skills
- Proven communication skills, particularly written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive and well-structured advocacy letters and correspondence
- Strong collaboration skills as a participant in complex multi-faceted projects
- Fluency in French is an asset

**Salary Range**: $102,880 to $154,320 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target of up to 15% of your annual salary.
