**Health and Safety Manager Job Description**:
We are looking for an experienced and responsible **Health and Safety Manager** to join our team. As a **Health and Safety Manager**, you will report to senior HR Manager and will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. Your main goal will be to always ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.

**In this role you will**:

- Under the direction of senior management, you will plan and implement OHS policies and programs for TekSavvy’s office and field operations settings (for example, construction and operation of fibre and fixed-wireless facilities) which are compliant with applicable federal and provincial law
- Promote awareness of OHS and advise and guide TekSavvy employees, H&S committee members, and management on various safety-related topics
- Prepare educational seminars and webinars for employees and contractors on a regular basis to promote a safety-centric culture
- As TekSavvy is a federally-regulated telecom company, you must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Federal and Provincial requirements and advise on necessary program changes to maintain compliance
- Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
- Conduct safety risk assessments as needed
- Enforce preventative measures
- Oversee TekSavvy contractors, subcontractors, and visitors to ensure they comply with company OHS policies
- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
- Be responsible for the internal investigation of OHS events and required reporting to the relevant enforcing authorities
- Travel when required to our various offices, job sites and contractor job sites to maintain Health & Safety Standards to each site

**Minimum Qualifications needed for this role**:

- Min. 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager or similar role
- Certificate in occupational health and safety or Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation required
- Excellent knowledge of applicable federal and provincial OHS legislation and procedures and potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience with writing OHS policies and procedures, conducting data analysis, and reporting statistics
- Working knowledge of safety management information systems
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player

- BSc/BA/BEng in safety management or similar field preferred
- Experience in the telecommunications industry
- Bilingual (English/French)
