Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Urban Planning Instructor to join our team at a Toronto engineering college. As an instructor, you will be responsible for teaching courses related to urban planning, covering topics such as urban design, land use planning, transportation planning, and sustainable development. Your expertise in these areas will contribute to the development and delivery of engaging lectures, workshops, and practical projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver curriculum for Urban Planning courses, covering topics such as urban design, land use planning, transportation planning, sustainable development, and urban governance.
- Organize and supervise workshops, field trips, and hands-on exercises to provide students with practical experience in urban planning processes and techniques.
- Assign and evaluate projects, assignments, and exams to assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to foster their academic growth.
- Support student learning by providing guidance, mentoring, and assistance with assignments, career development, and networking opportunities in the field of urban planning.
- Stay updated with the latest research, advancements, and industry trends in urban planning, incorporating relevant knowledge into teaching materials and methodologies.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and college staff to enhance the learning environment, contribute to program development, and participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in the field of urban planning.

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree or higher in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Geography, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
- Proven experience in urban planning, including expertise in urban design, land use planning, transportation planning, sustainable development, and urban governance.
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary or adult education setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools, software, and methodologies used in urban planning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire students.
- Familiarity with GIS software, data analysis, and visualization tools is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively.
- Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with the latest advancements and emerging trends in urban planning.

Job Summary:
The Toronto engineering college is seeking an Urban Planning Instructor to teach courses within our program. As an instructor, you will develop and deliver curriculum, conduct lectures and workshops, assess student performance, and provide guidance and support. Your expertise in urban planning principles, urban design, land use planning, transportation planning, and sustainable development will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for successful careers in urban planning, urban design, and related fields. A Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Geography, or a related field, along with teaching experience, is preferred for this role.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
