**Job purpose**
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting. This role maintains robust internal controls, supports strategic financial planning, and provides financial insights to aid in decision-making. Acting as a key liaison between the finance team and executive leadership, the Financial Controller plays a critical role in driving financial discipline, compliance, and operational efficiency. This position reports to the Global Finance Director and contributes to the overall financial health and performance of the organization.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
- Produce management reports to assist decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting process.
- Monitor actuals vs. budget and explain variances.
- Support rolling forecasts and long-term financial planning.
- Develop and enforce internal financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Validate sale quote make sure all relevant cost is counting while quoting the business, work closely with sales team.
- Monitor closely operation waste and efficiency, highlighted issues and see operation from financial risk perspective.
- Perform inventory risk analysis and recommend strategies to mitigate potential risks and losses.
- Conduct Gross Margin analysis and highlight opportunities to improve them.
- Conduct internal cost audits to verify accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor inventory costs and ensure accurate valuation.
- Ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurately set up and maintained in the ERP system to support efficient production and cost tracking.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closes.
- Implement process improvements and assist in implementing new ERP system.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting and finance team through ongoing training, mentorship, and performance management.
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
**Qualifications**
- Recognized accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CIMA) required.
- Extensive experience in financial control, accounting, or audit, with a strong track record of leadership.
- Minimum 5 years of costing experience within a manufacturing environment, including senior-level responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems such as QAD and/or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
