**Position Title**: People & Culture Coordinator

**Reports to**:Manager, People & Culture

**Department**:People & Culture

**Work Location**:Remote or Hybrid in the Leduc, AB or Calgary, AB office

**Position Summary**

**Duties and Responsibilities**

General Administration
- Create employment-related letters.
- Manage data entry and HRIS updates, including on/offboarding.
- Generate reports from HRIS and Excel, manipulating data as needed.
- Maintain employee and HR shared files.
- Draft and post employee announcements.
- Keep HR documents up to date with organizational changes.
- Assist in the organization and planning of employee events.
- Create and maintain reports tracking crucial people-related metrics.
- Provide administrative support for HR programs, including performance reviews, talent development, and employee recognition.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, escalating issues to the People & Culture team as needed.

**Recruitment & Onboarding**
- Support the Recruitment Coordinator with conducting initial phone interviews.
- Attend events, including career fairs and industry events in various locations.
- Conduct background and reference checks.

**Benefits Administration**
- Administer the employee benefits program, including health and wellness benefits, ensuring clear communication and employee understanding of their entitlements.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries, acting as a liaison between employees and benefits providers.

**Training**
- Coordinate and plan logistics for training sessions, ensuring smooth execution.

**Physical Requirements**
- Long periods of sitting, computer work for extended periods. You are responsible for working safely and adequately utilizing Workplace Ergonomics to avoid injury to yourself and others.

**Work Environment**
- There is a possibility of cuts, bruises, straining, disease and /or severe injury if safe work practices are not followed.
- Work is primarily carried out indoors, at times, there may be a requirement to go outside. Therefore, there can be exposure to extreme weather in the winter months. There can be dust, noise, mud, water, smoke, and bacteria exposure.
- Travel is required up to 20% of time for recruitment and industry events, including job fairs. Locations include Edmonton, Calgary, Richmond, Winnipeg, and Yellowknife.

**Qualifications**
- 2+ years of HR experience in fast-paced, field-based, or remote workforce environments is preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management is a plus.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of the Waste Management & Environmental industry is a valuable asset.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in MS Office with strong computer skills to support various HR functions.
