**Position**: Full Time Contract employment

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and contribute to a critical migration project from MySQL 5 to MySQL 8.

As a MySQL Database Administrator (DBA), you will play a pivotal role in the successful migration of our databases from MySQL 5 to MySQL 8. This project is of utmost importance due to the imminent end of support for MySQL 5.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate databases from MySQL 5 to MySQL 8.
- Verify schemas, tables, and configurations to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Address any issues or challenges that arise during the migration process.
- Work with multiple databases within a single RDS instance, sometimes handling up to 30 databases.
- Utilize your primary skillset in SQL (MySQL) to ensure efficient and effective data migration.
- Contribute to post-migration activities, including database optimization and monitoring.
- Provide support and expertise in maintaining the stability, security, and scalability of our databases.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong experience as a MySQL Database Administrator, with a track record of successful database migrations and upgrades.
- Proficiency in SQL, specifically MySQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
- Familiarity with AWS services and sysadmin concepts, enabling you to navigate and troubleshoot efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under tight timelines.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
- Proven experience in database optimization, monitoring, and performance tuning.
