**JOB SUMMARY**:
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Walking patrol of designated areas to observe and detect suspicious activity
- Provide visual presence to deter prohibited activities
- Respond to calls for security assistance as required
- Enforce rules and regulations of the property and the legislation
- Document incidents and activities in official reports and daily notebook
- Respond to emergency situations based on established protocols (fire alarm, criminal activity, etc.)
- Physically restrain and arrest persons as required by legislation
- Monitor and observe patients as required to ensure the safety of themselves and staff
- Assist patrons with directions or answering questions to the best of ability
- Patrol exterior and parking levels
**Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following prior to an interview**:
- Valid Ontario Security License
- Valid First Aid / CPR Certificate
- Eligibility to work in Canada for a minimum of 1 year
- Successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of security experience
- Willingness and ability to complete required use of force training
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication
- Ability and willingness to work in a Healthcare environment
- Experience in performing security in a _Healthcare _facility for at least 5 years
- Police Foundations or equivalent education experience
- Availability to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, overnights), 7 days per week in a full-time capacity
- Willingness to work shifts that require extended periods of standing and walking ;
- Willingness to wear protective apparel for duration of shift times (face mask, face shields, gloves, and gowns)
- Strong aptitude in:
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Sound judgment and conflict management skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people in a team environment
**COMPENSATION**:
- Pay Rate up to $ 23.00 per hour.
- Health Benefits are available for full-time employees upon completion of 3 months probation
