**Summary**
**Role Title**: Shop Technician
**Department**: Operations
**Role Overview**
The shop technician will be responsible for physically installing vehicle mounted equipment. This will include certain aspects of welding, fabrication, electrical (12v) and assembly. The role of this position is execution of a wide range of technical and physical activities. Additionally, this position will provide after sales support for any previous installs the company has completed, that may return for service.
**General Accountability**
A direct reporting relationship to the Shop Coordinator, while consistently demonstrating a commitment to Company Core Values and Strategic Plans.
**Qualifications**
**Education** **and Experience**
- Mandatory high school graduation diploma
- Post-secondary education in Engineering is an asset
- Previous industry experience is preferred
**Competencies**
- Self-motivated, punctual and disciplined
- Possess a strong belief in ethics and integrity, underscored by honesty and trust
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral)
- Advanced planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and dependability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment while maintaining effective working relationships within a team model
- Strong accountability and time management skills
- Comfortable with power tools and material handling equipment
- Ability to travel in Canada and the USA
- Practical understanding of how things work mechanically.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Installation Technician: o Follow written Scope of Work accurately. o Follow industry best practices to ensure long term quality o Accept guidance and decisions of the Shop Coordinator
- Teamwork: o Respect co-workers and always be learning o Assist any other team member when required o Don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions or help
- Housekeeping: o Keep tools clean and organised o Keep work area tidy o Assist with cleanup and garbage removal when required o Treat Company and Customer assets with respect.
**Working Conditions**
- Expected to adhere at all times to Company Policy, Corporate Safety Policy, and IT Policy
- As we occupy a multi-tenant building, employees are requested to respect designated areas
- Work will primarily occur in a shop environment.
**Salary**: $45,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
