**Position** **Summary**
The Material Handler assists in the safe and efficient operation of the Manufacturing Facility by loading, unloading, and moving materials, both manually and with a forklift
**Shifts Available**:
1 Midnight Position - 11:20 pm - 7:20 am Sunday - Thursday
**Specific Responsibilities**
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves with lift trucks or by hand.
- Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage.
- Transfers all materials from storage or work sites to designated areas in a safe manner.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and takes load to destination.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist
- Clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- Remove all scrap bins, cardboard, trash pails, as needed to maintain a tidy environment.
- Ensures placement of materials and products in work areas such as Extruders or CNCs is done to maximize the production process.
- Other duties as required
**Performance** **Measurements**
- Timely and accurate loading and unloading of materials as directed.
- Maintaining a safe pathway to transport materials to and from destinations within the facility.
- Prioritizes and plans work accordingly; uses time efficiently and makes timely decisions.
**Education/Experience Required**
- Proof of past/current Forklift/Tow Motor Certification
- Previous related experience and/or training
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds
**PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS**
- Always Maintains a clean work area
- Follows company policies & procedures and safety rules
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Experience driving forklifts, reach truck, and tow motors (Internal training and certification available)
**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**: Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, twisting.
**Essential Skills**: Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, computer use, continuous learning
