Summer School

Overview
Founded in 1836, Bishop’s College School is a perfect blend of
picturesque landscapes, historic architecture, and modern
facilities. Situated in Sherbrooke (borough of Lennoxville),
Quebec, we are approximately 160 km east of Montreal. Our 250
- acre campus includes five playing fields, tennis and squash courts,
and large wooded areas. Summer 2025 marks the 63rd edition of
our camp program, which begins on June 28 and ends on July 26.
Students 11 to 16 years of age choose one of three month-long
options: English or French as a Second Language.

The Position
The Summer School Language Coordinator plays a major role in the
organization and execution of the language programs offered at the camp. Working alongside the
Camp Director, the Coordinator plans and oversees the summer language program. The ideal
program, previous management experience, bilingualism, and a deep appreciation for a boarding
- school environment. An outgoing, engaging manner will be considered an asset, and the
confidence and credibility to lead a dynamic faculty are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, supervise, and discipline the ESL and FSL teaching staff.
- Supervise and delegate responsibilities to the tutors
- Set up and run the resource room on a duty rotation for the summer
- Acquire and manage supplies and resources for teachers
- Attend 1/3 major outings excluding academic trip
- Arrange 1-on-1 tutoring for at-risk students
- Plan, coordinate and attend academic trips (including transportation)
- Prepare and plan the ESL placement test
- Work together with the FSL Department Head to prepare and plan the FSL placement
- test
- Organize and maintain class sets based on ability (age is also a consideration)
- Plan and coordinate weekly academic meetings to keep teachers updated and on the
- same page
- Responsible for the ESL and FSL newspaper (design, layout, assigning contents to
- teachers)
- Tutor and supervise teachers in their report card completion for all students
- Plan and execute the ESL and FSL scavenger hunts
- Discipline students in classroom situations. Severe problems will be dealt with in
- conjunction with the Director
- Contribute academic news and updates at all general staff meetings.
- Dance duty (1 out of 3 dances)
- Organize and produce weekly academic spirit pins and end-of-camp diplomas.

**Summer School**
**Language Coordinator**
- Acquire and prepare academic, scavenger hunt, rooster club, and other end-of-camp
- prizes
- Act as ambassador and intermediary between parents, teachers, and campers for the
- duration of the month
- Plan and execute the final banquet and graduation ceremonies in conjunction with the
- Director. This includes the final cash awards (scholarships) and best camper trophies
- Other minor duties and responsibilities may arise throughout the month

Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Strong interest in and personal commitment to working with youth
- Experience working with diverse cultures
- Experience in a summer camp
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility in work hours required (day and the possibility of evening hours
- Diverse tutoring techniques and open to new ideas on how to assist students
- Flexible, compassionate, self-motivator

pittoresques, architecture historique et infrastructures modernes.
Établis à Sherbrooke, dans l’arrondissement Lennoxville, le collège
se situe approximativement à 160 km à l’est de Montréal. Notre
campus de 240 acres comprend six terrains de sports, trois
terrains de tennis, trois courts de squash ainsi qu’un vaste espace
boisé. Le camp linguistique d’été de BCS, qui s’étend du 28 juin au
26 juillet, sera notre 63ème édition du camp. Les jeunes âgés de
11 à 16 ans choisissent le programme d’anglais langue seconde ou
de français langue seconde. Les cours sont développés de façon à
offrir aux étudiants motivés l’occasion d’apprendre à maîtriser la

Le poste
Le coordinateur des langues de l'école d'été joue un rôle majeur dans l'organisation et l'exécution
des programmes de langues proposés par le camp. En collaboration avec le directeur du camp, le
