Overview
Established in 1836 in Quebec, Canada, Bishop’s College
School (BCS) is a co-educational IB World School offering the
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and
certificates. With a campus bordered by farmland and rolling
hills on one side and by the city of Sherbrooke on the other,

The Position
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Officer responds to inquiries,
admission files, and coordinates admissions activities, including individual and group
visits. The Officer participates in enrolment management-related tasks as assigned
throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a resource for prospective families considering enrollment at BCS by

articulating the school’s mission, programs, and admission policies
- Serves as an initial source of information about BCS and the admissions process

directed to the Admissions Office
- Speak publicly to individuals and groups both on and off campus; represent the

school through admissions-related events
- Meets with and interviews prospective students and their families during their

visit to campus
- Manages applicant files from inquiry through to enrolment
- Participates as a member of the Admissions Committee and communicates final

decisions through an established admissions process
- Assists in the planning and delivery of admissions information sessions, testing

sessions, and other admissions-related events

Admissions Officer
- Travels (both domestic and international) on behalf of the BCS Admissions Team

for recruitment and other admissions-related events
- Develops and maintains close working relationships with educational consultants,

school officials, and prospective parents
- Positive appearance, attitude and presentation with a strict sense of

confidentiality
- Directs and leads the Student Ambassador program
- Coordinates content for admissions communications such as Summer Mailing for

current and prospective families
- Maintains guest lists and RSVPs for all admissions events & open houses
- Works with the Marketing Communications Officer to ensure that admissions

information is updated regularly
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience/knowledge of independent boarding schools preferred
- Strong written and verbal skills required
- Bilingualism English/French or a second language an asset
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Must have the ability to travel on behalf of the institution; extensive travel for

recruiting off campus, nationally, and internationally required
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Internet, knowledge of Blackbaud a plus
- Ability to regularly communicate with other faculty/staff, families, and visitors in

in these settings.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
