**Annual Salary: $58,203.60 - $72,754.50**

Reporting to the Director of Care, with a matrix reporting relationship with the Manager of Infection Prevention and Control, the Infection Control Facilitator is responsible to act as a resource for infection prevention and control, participation in risk management and safety, providing education to health care providers and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines and standards. Additional responsibilities include linking with external agencies to participate in regional and community-wide infection prevention & control activities.

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience**:

- Current registration, at a minimum, as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, without restriction
- Demonstrated interest in infection prevention and control, including the commitment to enroll within the first year of hire, in a specialized program through an IPAC Canada endorsed education program
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant clinical experience
- A working knowledge of infection prevention and control, the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation and standards

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent oral communication skills, with an ability to initiate and model positive change
- Highly organized with an ability to determine priorities and plan activities while performing a variety of responsibilities and responding effectively to fluctuating workload demands
- Well-established independent work habits and judgment, as well as an effective team player
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Meditech and MS Office, including Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel to various work locations, providing own reliable transportation
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

**Assets**:

- Completion or currently enrolled in a recognized infection prevention and control program
- Certification in infection prevention and control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Ability to travel to various work locations as required and provide own transportation
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
