Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.

**Position Details**
- Overseeing the operations of the transactional accounting department and the development, and deployment of Eclipse across all assigned business units.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Coordinating and preparing job costing and internal financial statements.
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
- Evolving current accounting operations to manage the growth of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.
- Maintaining the chart of accounts and internal control systems over accounting transactions.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database and data collections tools, as needed.
- Overseeing monthly sales and payroll tax compliance.
- Overseeing the payroll functions, including process improvement and design
- Overseeing the full cycle of accounts payable, including process improvement and design.
- Monitoring the treasury daily and maximizing the efficient use or allocation of cash.
- Developing the team and improving their performance through coaching and feedback loop.
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor from time to time.

**Education & Experience**
- CPA with 3-5 years of experience with progressive leadership responsibilities up to and including controllership roles
- Experience supervising financial professionals and clerical staff
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and controls
- Experience working in a construction company
- Experience with Explorer / Eclipse (or other ERP)
- Advanced user of the MS Office Suite
