**Compensation**: $49,000 - $52,000 per year

**About the role**:
The Hippy Coordinator leads and oversees the daily operations of our HIPPY program. Working closely and collaboratively with other YMCA colleagues, the coordinator will be responsible for the direct leadership, supporting families and coordinating outreach and program logistics in smaller centers in Nova Scotia (currently Truro, Amherst and New Glasgow). The HIPPY Program is an evidence-based program that promotes settlement and integration of mothers, their children and families. The provision of a parent-led pre-school curriculum with the support of peer Home Visitors has the objectives of helping parents prepare their children for success in the Canadian school system as well increasing social inclusion through group meetings.
**In this role, you will**:
- Deliver the HIPPY program in accordance with the terms specified in the contractual agreement
- Coordinate the Home Visitor team, specifically with scheduling, HIPPY weekly training, staff development and program administration
- Recruit and select eligible HIPPY families and support their continuing involvement
- Supervise, train and support Home Visitors
- Make periodic home visits
- Elevate program quality by ensuring successful project delivery, meeting deliverables and achieving intended outcomes
- Foster and cultivate a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture that aligns with the organization’s values and vision
- Support and mentor Home Visitors with strong emphasis on supporting excellence in service delivery, and ensuring consistent and meaningful engagement with clients
- Enter data and complete reports in a timely manner as required
- Ensure compliance with program standards
- Participation in national HIPPY conferences, in-service training and meetings
- Plan and coordinate parent group meetings, including staff planning for group meetings
- Foster strong relationships with participating families and community partners
- Coordinate program materials, events, and outreach efforts
- Support parent engagement, leadership development, and family empowerment
**Education and skills qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Social Services, Early Childhood Development or Counselling supplemented by a minimum of one - two (1 - 2) years’ recent related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience working in an early childhood service or early intervention program for children and their families
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in budget management, accountability, and reporting
- Demonstrated competency with administrative tasks
- Experience leading, training and supervising a team
- High level of initiative to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines and tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and proven track record of working, and coordinating, with external partners, such as government agencies and service providers
- Exceptional organizational and program coordination skills, with attention to detail in planning
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment
