Outside Service Technician

Benshaw Canada Controls Inc., located in Listowel, Ontario has a full-time opportunity to join our team as an **Outside Service Technician**. Benshaw provides the industry’s most advanced electronic motor control, protection products and associated services.

The Outside Service Technician will provide startup assistance as well as troubleshooting support to customers nationwide. This position will require frequent travel as well as exceptional customer service skills.

**Under general supervision, you will**:

- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical motor control systems such as Variable Frequency Drives and Solid State Starters with voltages ranging from 120 to 13.8kV.
- Perform diagnostic testing and repairs at customer locations and in-house.
- Accurately enter necessary data into IFS system.
- Provide off-hours on-call service on a rotating basis.
- Document service and repair activities, including thorough service reports with details on findings and actions taken.
- Provide input into technical manual updates.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What you will bring to the position**:

- Completion of an Electrician program, an Electrical/Electronic Technician or Technologist Certificate, or equivalent.
- Three years’ experience in electrical field.
- Experience with motor controls, down to board level is considered an asset.
- Thorough troubleshooting skills specifically related to electrical/electronic equipment.
- Excellent ability to communicate with customers by understanding their technical knowledge and abilities;
- Ability to travel regularly both within and outside of Canada; at times heavy travel is required.
