**Job Summary**

Want to join a great team which offers part and full time hours with competitive wages and benefits? We are looking for experienced Servers to join our Bistro Restaurant and/or Banquet team. We opened in December 2018, the Courtyard by Marriott Burlington is in Burlington/Oakville region features 135 guestrooms and suites with 1800 sq. ft of flexible meeting space, indoor salt-water pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and on-site Bistro Restaurant & Lounge.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with setting up the banquet rooms with tables, serving stations, or buffet tables for service
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner
- Make recommendations and answer questions regarding the menu
- Maintain cleanliness
- Run food from the kitchen to the tables
- Create a pleasant atmosphere for dining and entertainment
- Clean up after events and aid in inventory
- Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guests' expectations
- Providing friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well taken care of and builds their intent to return
- Complete restaurant opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools
- Cleaning all equipment areas, locking equipment doors, etc.
- Take orders from customers, input orders in micros, and obtain payment
- Fulfilling orders to Courtyard Bistro standards
- Prepare food, coffee and other beverages
- Work in all F&B areas, including busing, cleaning and resetting tables
- Assist with preparation and serving events/banquets
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
- Deal with guest requests in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner
- Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and guest care as required by Hotel policy
- Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform and personal hygiene as required by Hotel policy**Required Skills**:

- Prior experience with Starbucks, Micros, banquets, catering and hotel is strongly preferred
- Smart Serve certified required
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- General knowledge of food and food preparation techniques
- Approachable, pleasant, polite, fast
- Able to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
- Must be able to understand both oral and written English
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
