Hours: 35 hours/week (Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 11:00 a.m-7:00 pm) Flexibility is required.

Number of positions: 5 (3 day positions, 2 evening positions)

Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (12-month contract)

**Position Summary**:
The Enhanced Support Services Worker-Developmental Services provides consultation, crisis support, individual and/or group support services to children/youth and families receiving services from the Agency whether the family is birth/natural family, Kin family, foster care family or adopting family. Assist in strategies to increase attachment relationships between children and their caregivers as well as the management of the behavioural and emotional needs of the child/youth. Provides services to assist adolescents in their practical and emotional life skills development and preparation for independence. Assists in program development and collaborates with community partners. Provides education and training opportunities to staff, foster families, community families and community partners. Supervise visiting /drop off arrangements between children and families and assist parents in learning specific skills related to the care of their child.

**Required Qualification/Skills**:

- Minimum of Community College diploma in Autism and Behavioural Sciences/technology program; Child & Youth worker program; Social Services Worker program; etc.)
- Knowledge of Child and Family Services Act
- Knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion and the intersecting issues that impact marginalized identities (knowledge from lived experience is considered an asset).
- Knowledge and commitment towards Truth and Reconciliation
- Demonstrated ability and experience planning, designing and delivering quality activation methodologies and life-enriching programs to enhance the well-being of children/youth and families who have intellectual disabilities including autism.
- Sound knowledge of child development and adolescent behaviours
- Excellent engagement skills with both children and adults
- Effectively develop & implement strategies to assist in identified areas of risk or concern
- Excellent skills in providing services towards enhancing understanding and skill development for caregivers
- Excellent negotiation and crisis intervention skills
- Able to work independently and effectively, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Possess skills to effectively problem solve and work collaboratively with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle
- Computer literacy
- Flexible hours of work are required.
