**Summary of Duties**:
Reporting to the Manager and working as part of an interdependent team, the responsibilities of the Supervisor, Special Events and Dundas Place range from facility management to activation program delivery and community enablement/engagement. This position is required to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.

**Work Performed**:

- Responsible for supervising employees including hiring, administration, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance aspects of reporting employees. Respond to and refer sensitive and confidential human resource issues as required.
- Provide leadership in the execution and delivery of services and programs in the following areas of accountability:

- Supervise operations and direct casual staff at work sites across London to support special events, Dundas Place and Field House, movie nights, and neighbourhood events in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines.
- Coordinate with relevant City teams, external organizations, local businesses and diverse interest groups to implement seasonal programs for Dundas Place and Special Event initiatives.
- Contribute to the development, monitoring and review of the strategic plan, objectives, divisional policies and procedures and budgets.
- Prepare, monitor and recommend operational budgets.
- Evaluate programs and operations based on principles of continuous improvement.
- Work independently to analyze problems and issues as they arise and develop and facilitate effective solutions.
- Establish, maintain and evaluate standards for customer service and program functions to maintain a customer service culture that meets corporate standards. Address escalated customer service and program issues as needed.
- Support the management of Dundas Place through participation in facilities reviews and redesign / renovation projects.
- Undertake regular inspections of Dundas Place and event locations to report issues and arrange for repairs or additional maintenance as required.
- Highlight and promote public use of Dundas Place and Special Event programs with residents and businesses.
- Develop, build, and maintain partnerships, collaborations, initiatives, and relationships with residents, community and neighbourhood groups, organizations and networks.
- Provide liaison services between event operators and service providers with external and internal partners.
- Report issues and provide recommendations to the Manager on program ideas, events and vendors.

- Maintain working knowledge of City of London Divisions involved in Dundas Place and Special Event programs and actively cultivate positive working relationships among staff with relevant colleagues.
- Encourage and support employee participation and commitment to divisional and organizational objectives. Actively mentor, provide development opportunities and build team performance with direct reports.
- Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and human rights through interactions with community partners, employees and individuals and promote programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment.
- Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety.
- Track performance measures using appropriate data collection and analytics.
- Participate on various corporate teams and committees representing both the business area and Division.
- Build and encourage employee commitment to a high level of performance in all areas of customer service, employee safety and delivery of individual goals and objectives.
- Direct any media inquiries to the Manager.
- Act as a resource to various committees and networks.

- Completion of a university degree or college diploma in, Event Management, Hospitality, Recreation or equivalent combination of education and related professional and lived community experience.
