School Cleaner

**Job Summary**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas throughout the day.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors as needed.
- Empty and replace trash, recycling, and waste bins regularly.
- Refill restroom and classroom supplies (paper, soap, towels, etc.).
- Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and other touch surfaces.
- Respond promptly to spills, messes, or urgent cleaning requests during school hours.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Support set-up and clean-up for school events (moving tables, chairs, etc.).
- Perform light maintenance duties as required (e.g., replacing light bulbs or filters).
- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
**Requirements & Qualifications**
- Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or building maintenance roles (preferably in schools or institutional environments).
- Valid **Vulnerable Sector Check** (or willingness to complete one prior to start).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of safe cleaning product use and sanitation standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
**Schedule & Compensation**
- Day shift (typically 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., may vary by school).
- Full-time or part-time opportunities available.
Pay: $17.20-$17.50 per hour
