Founded in 1901, the Caledon Mountain Trout Club (the “Club”) is one of Canada’s most exclusive private clubs. The Club’s mission is to provide an outstanding sporting and social experience to its members, their families, and guests, by sharing a passion for the outdoors in a refined and tranquil setting.

155 members enjoy seasonal (April to October) dining, accommodation, fly fishing, clay shooting, and social activities at the Club’s 250-acre estate located in the Caledon hills north-west of Toronto.

**The Role**:
A proven leader with a focus on delivering an exceptional membership experience, the General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall operations of the Club. They oversee the Club’s small complement of permanent and seasonal staff and are expected to visibly lead this dedicated team by example. In their staff-facing role, they demonstrate constructive leadership, accessibility, and the capacity to effectively mentor and align team members around high standards of service.

The GM reports directly to the board of directors of the Club and has direct reports who are responsible for the Club’s property, kitchen, dining, housekeeping, and member services. As a not-for-profit corporation, the GM has direct responsibility for the Club’s budget planning, financial performance, staff recruitment, membership development, as well as the planning, promotion, and execution of the Club’s various social events. The Club’s board of directors has committed to several significant capital projects over the coming years and the GM will work closely with the board to manage the oversight of these projects.

The Club’s General Manager is a full-time role with member-facing duties primarily concentrated on weekends during the operating season (April to October). During the off-season (November to March), the clubhouse is closed and the General Manager’s focus shifts to planning, budgeting, recruitment, and staff development for the next operating season. This schedule allows flexibility for the GM to operate remotely during the off-season. The Club also has the flexibility to offer on-site accommodation as part of the General Manager’s compensation plan.

- Demonstrated experience in setting a high standard for service excellence.
- A hands-on, member-facing manager who rolls up their sleeves and leads by example.
- Proven communicator - directing staff to deliver excellent member service.
- Experience managing front and back of food and beverage services.
- Understands the principals of club accounting.
- Experience developing budgets and managing to a financial plan.
- Experience recruiting, training, motivating, and supporting staff members.
- Experience building a team culture committed to excellent member service.

**Salary Details**:
Total compensation is dependent on experience and is in the range of $120,000 to $150,000. The Club also offers a competitive benefits package.

**Salary**: $120,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
