The Casual Transportation Associate is an operations and logistics position within the Food Security Ministry, responsible for the collection and transportation of product for distribution through The Mustard Seed Street Church. The individual must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as they will be interacting with donors and a diverse community of volunteers to ensure the efficient collection, transportation and delivery of product. The position of Transportation Associate must possess and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure effective operations with our staff and volunteers, specifically the Shipper/Receiver, Warehouse Coordinator, Food Distribution Coordinator and Guest Services Coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Be an ambassador for The Mustard Seed Street Church in the community
- Safe and courteous operation of The Mustard Seed’s vehicles
- Health and Safety - work practices and cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
- Responsible for the well-being and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and donors during pick-ups and deliveries
- Collaborate with Shipping/Receiving and colleagues to ensure efficient collection and distribution of product through established methods
- Attending and participating in all relevant Mustard Seed Street Church meetings and training opportunities available
- Completion of both truck inspection/trip sheets and Route Check-list daily
- Ability to manage time en route and complete route in a safe and timely fashion
- Participate in employee and program evaluation process
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Required - BC Driver’s license and acceptable abstract
- Required - Experience driving 5, 3 & 1 ton trucks; experience driving a Sprinter Van; experience in vehicle inspection and completing inspection sheets
- Required - Current forklift certification with experience completing inspection sheets or a willingness to obtain
- Warehouse experience an asset
- Food Handling Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain

Terms of Employment
- Must be willing to sign the staff code of conduct
- This position reports to: The Director of Food Security
- Term: Casual
- Must read and agree to following The Mustard Seed policies which are a living, changing document
- The Mustard Seed Street Church follows BC Employment Standards
- Must provide an acceptable criminal record check, including the level of clearance required to work with vulnerable people
- Must provide completed Medical Assessment form from your Medical Practitioner
