Since 1975, The Mustard Seed Street Church (MSSC) has been fighting hunger while restoring Faith for families and individuals living in poverty, as well as the working poor, throughout the Capital Regional District. We offer a continuum of care through multiple services including our Food Bank, Hospitality Centre and Food Rescue Programming. We also offer church services for those seeking a place to belong and grow spiritually. Through these core programs we assist thousands of people each month with the help of more than 50 daily volunteers and many generous financial supporters.

**Position Title: Casual/On Call **Driver -Transportation Associate**

**Position Summary**

This is an operations and logistics position with the Food Security Distribution Centre, responsible for the collection, delivery and transportation of product for distribution through The Mustard Seed Street Church and Food Bank. The individual must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as they will be interacting with donors and a diverse community of volunteers to ensure the efficient collection, transportation and delivery of product.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Safe and courteous operation of The Mustard Seed Street Church’s vehicles
- Health and Safety - work practices and cleanliness of vehicles and equipment
- Responsible for the well-being and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and donors during pick-ups and deliveries
- Collaborate with warehouse team to ensure efficient collection and distribution of product through established methods
- Help to maintain all equipment used in Transportation, including vehicles, carts, dollies, bins, forklifts, pallet jacks or relevant equipment
- Effective communication with Food Security Team, donors, vendors, partner agencies, staff, volunteers and general public
- Effective communication with entire Seed team
- Attending and participating in all relevant meetings and training opportunities available
- Completion of both truck inspection/trip sheets and Route Check-list daily
- Completion of route in a timely manor
- Participate in employee and program evaluation process
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Required - BC Driver’s license
- Required -Experience driving 5, 3 & 1 ton trucks; experience driving a Sprinter Van; experience in vehicle inspection and completing inspection sheets
- Required - Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
- Warehouse and forklift experience an asset

**Terms of Employment**

- **Must provide and maintain an acceptable criminal record check, including the level of clearance required to work with vulnerable people
