**Who are we looking for?**

The **Provincial Government Relationship Manager - Ontario**is a regional leadership role focused on driving the vision, plan, growth, and performance of the Social Infrastructure strategy across the province. This position involves ongoing collaboration with partners across the Region, Canada, the U.S., and globally to support GHD’s efforts in the Property and Buildings market The **Provincial Government Relationship Manager**will work closely with the Clients and Markets Lead for Ontario and other Ontario Regional Market Leaders in Property & Buildings, Environment, Water, Transportation, and more. Key collaborators also include the regions Business Group Leaders, Key Client Relationship Managers, and Service Line Leaders.

This role’s primary responsibilities are developing and maintaining relationships within Provincial Government Ministries, Department, Agencies, and other Stakeholders. This role involves promoting GHD’s Brand, advocating for the organization's capabilities and experience, monitoring developments in the trends of public spending and regulatory developments, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

With a focus on driving growth in the Provincial public sector, the role emphasizes delivering sustainable, profitable outcomes, fostering innovation, and advancing GHD’s core business. The **Provincial Government Relationship Manager**will work on positioning GHD strategically through differentiated value propositions, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships. Leading the development of proposals that support growth and diversification of the property and buildings market, this leader will also ensure alignment with GHD’s core values.

Key responsibilities also include fostering cross-market collaboration within GHD to execute complex projects in line with the Social Infrastructure Go to Market Plan.

**Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in**:

- **Relationship Building**:Establish and maintain strong relationships with key Provincial Government Ministries, Department, Agencies, and other Stakeholders, including MOI, MOH and MOE. Strengthening relationships with new and existing clients, while expanding GHD’s presence in the property and buildings market across Ontario, consistent with GHD’s enterprise strategy and business plans. Providing leadership on key client accounts in the property and buildings market
- **Growth**:Implementing GHD’s Ontario Social Infrastructure strategy, with a focus on long-term opportunities that align with GHD’s growth aspirations. Understanding emerging market trends, with a forward-looking strategy toward future projects and opportunities
- **Advocacy**:Represent the organization’s interests, capabilities and experience in meetings with government officials and at public hearings.
- **Legislative Monitoring**:Track and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the organization.
- **Budget**:Track and communicate trends in provincial government spending and campaigns
- **Compliance**:Ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
- **Communication**:Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and briefings to senior management on government relations activities.
- **Strategic Planning**:Develop and implement strategies that align GHD’s growth aspirations with emerging trends in provincial government
- **Collaboration**:Work closely with key ministries (Infrastructure, Health, Transportation etc)
- **Training**:Provide training and support to staff on government relations and advocacy strategies. Collaborating with other Market Leaders and Client Managers across sectors such as Environment, Water, Transportation, and Property & Buildings to win multidisciplinary projects
- **Event Coordination**:Organize and participate through topic presentation and thought leadership in events, such as conferences and forums, to promote the organization’s interests and elevating GHD’s brand in the market
- **Research**:Conduct research on political trends, public opinion, and other factors that may impact the organization’s government relations strategy.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
