OverviewManager, Government Affairs (Canada) is responsible for developing, managing, and executing government and regulatory affairs strategies in Canada. This role establishes, builds, and maintains effective relationships with key government officials, industry bodies, and relevant trade associations. The Manager will represent Red Bull Canada across the regulatory and government affairs landscape and partner with the Red Bull Canada leadership team to support and protect the company’s reputation. The role supports maintaining a regulatory and policy environment that enables responsible marketing of the product and the energy drinks category at federal, provincial, and local levels. The Manager of Government Affairs (Canada) will ensure strategic alignment with North American and Global Science, Regulatory, & Government Affairs teams to navigate the regulatory landscape relevant to the energy drink category and Red Bull’s local operations. The role serves as the primary point of contact for Canadian federal, provincial, and local government matters.ResponsibilitiesPolicy expertise: Understand and manage public policy issues of greatest commercial/reputational importance to Red Bull Canada (and Red Bull Global), including food and beverage, recycling, sustainability, and trade policy. Monitor, research, and analyze federal, provincial, and local legislation and regulations relevant to Red Bull Canada. Ensure alignment of company practices with local laws/regulations and industry codes.Government and stakeholder relations and advocacy: Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with federal, provincial, and local officials and regulators. Engage with trade associations and other stakeholders to reflect Red Bull business priorities in advocacy. Represent the organization at external meetings, industry events, and with government agencies. Provide support to Senior Director of Government Affairs (North America) on relevant matters.Internal collaboration and alignment: Work with Legal, Marketing, Communications, Sales, and Operations to ensure alignment with local laws/regulations and industry codes.Other: Maintain knowledge of Canadian policymaking and regulatory processes; ensure capability to register as a lobbyist where required; support and enable responsible marketing across jurisdictions.QualificationsStrong grasp of the politics driving Canadian policymaking.Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in political science, public affairs, government, or law.Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience in federal/provincial government, industry or trade association, private/public business, or NGO involved with dealings with the Canadian government.Excellent working knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes in Ottawa and at the provincial level.Ability to register as a lobbyist at any level of government.Familiarity with Consumer-Packaged Goods, Food and/or Beverage sector.Proven experience in issues and reputation management and project management.Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills applied in advocacy.Effective relationship-building and collaboration skills.Ability to create and deliver PowerPoint presentations and educational tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and risk judgment.Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Affinity with Red Bull’s corporate culture.CompensationThe expected annual base salary range for this position is $137,750 to $152,250. The actual base salary depends on qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
