Are you looking to be part of a team that wants to grow and expand the business. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who can operate excavators, dozers, and smaller machines. Main work is for trenching, with some bulk loading/stripping as well. Previous experience and training course certification is preferred.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Skillfully operate heavy earth moving equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, telehandlers, loaders, and any other equipment as needed.
- Ensures work is completed to specification by observing grade stakes, material levels, hand signals, and other markers.
- Consults digging plans, machine specifications, and safety procedures for specific tasks.
- Conducts routine inspections before operating equipment to identify needed maintenance or repairs.
- Performs or requests necessary repairs and adjustments to equipment.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Transports materials around job sites.

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of excavation procedures and techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and read excavation plans.
- Ability to complete safety awareness training.
- Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Perform heavy physical labor for extended periods of time and under all types of outdoor weather conditions.

Position open immediately. The job is physical in nature, and you must be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions. Steel toe boots are required.

Reliable transportation is essential as sites vary across the Fraser Valley, are not accessible via transit.

Dewitt Enterprises is an excavation contracting company that has been servicing the greenhouse industry of Western Canada since 1988, starting with little more than a backhoe and some determination. Throughout the years, J. Dewitt Enterprises has grown into a company with multiple crews that focus on the ever-expanding needs of the greenhouse industry they service, with a fleet of machinery suited for everything from small repairs to large turn-key projects.

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
