Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region._
The regional board seeks to fill the following permanent position:
**DESCRIPTION**
Reporting to the Communications Coordinator, and in collaboration with the Public Health Department, you will contribute to the NRBHSS’s communications efforts. More specifically, you will contribute to projects related to public health and communications issues related to infectious diseases in Nunavik.
You will be in charge of the vaccination promotion project, teaming up as needed with external agencies in behavioral research and communications strategy. You may also be called upon to participate in or take charge of any other related projects, such as communications campaigns linked to prevention and health promotion.
More specifically, you will:
- Lead the vaccination promotion project;
- Participate in the development of public health communications campaigns;
- Ensure the deployment of communications plans, evaluate performance and propose adjustments;
- Work on the production of information tools, including copywriting;
- Implement communications recommendations according to priorities.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in letters and languages, humanities, social sciences or other relevant academic disciplines;
- Experience in the North, knowledge of Inuit culture and the region will be considered an asset;
- Willingness to travel to Nunavik communities several times a year;
- Fluency in two of the three languages used in Nunavik, both spoken and written (French, English, Inuktitut);
- Ability to understand, synthesize and popularize scientific information;
- Experience as a communications professional;
- Stimulated by community mobilization;
- Interested in the health field and in contributing to the well-being of populations.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Permanent, full-time position (35 h/week);
- Position based in Kuujjuaq or telecommuting with travel to Nunavik;
- Salary according to MSSS rules **($26.22/hr to $43.49/hr)**.
Northern benefits (if position established on Nunavik territory): retention bonus ($6,000/year), remoteness bonus ($10,627/year), cost-of-living bonus ($3,870/year) and if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing provided, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, personal annual outings from Kuujjuaq to point of hire, etc.
