**Job Purpose**:
Tantalus Labs is seeking an HR Assistant at our Maple Ridge production facility. The HR Assistant will be responsible for general front line HR administration and Recruitment duties. They will be obligated to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and protocols with a focus on timely reporting and demonstration of HR knowledge and practices, while maintaining strict confidentiality of personnel data.

This is a part-time entry level position with a starting wage of $19-21/hour depending on experience. The role reports to Tantalus Labs’ HR Generalist.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondences & memos, forms, and reports, processing confidential reports and documents
- Assist in the maintenance of all company policies, including reviewing and updating content
- Digitize and organize all documents in the Company’s internal Drive
- Support the recruitment process across Canada
- Prepare new hire packages and documentation, coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation
- Coordinate and maintain posting of all open positions
- Conduct reference checks
- Respond to HR inquiries by interpreting best practices around existing and future policy, with guidance from the HR Generalist
- Track and maintain and ensure employee data accuracy
- Coordinate social events with the HR Generalist
- Take notes and minutes in meetings
- Maintain employee file records up-to-date
- Other tasks as assigned or required from time to time.

**Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in a Human Resources program or recent graduate an asset, but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Keen attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality and establish a high level of trust and credibility while managing sensitive information
- Adaptable and flexible with a demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Self-starter with a winning attitude who is comfortable working independently and with a team.

**Working Conditions**:

- Main location of work will be located in Maple Ridge
- 20 hours per week
- Inter-divisional cooperation and collaboration as required by company needs.
