The Human Resources Administrator is accountable for assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of all new hires, as well as perform a variety of administrative tasks to support all shop and field employees and the Human Resources Manager. This position will use organizational skills, problem solving skills and leadership abilities to manage the administrative tasks within these areas.

**Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities**:

- Maintain employee files
- Receive employee attendance from site foreman, notify foreman when employees call in sick and then track employee attendance and vacation.
- Update and print foreman binders for every jobsite.
- Perform and schedule new hire orientations, and submit all documentation to payroll
- Assist with updating job postings, and researching new recruitment platforms.
- Posting new positions to recruitment boards
- Conduct phone interviews
- Review timecards weekly and identify those who are eligible for the attendance bonus
- Assist with employee timecards resolve missing hour concerns,
- Assist payroll with sending out pay statements as needed
- Update tool tracking spreadsheet and communicate tool deductions with payroll.
- Advise payroll when a new employee starts to have their names added to the timecard.
- Answer employee questions regarding compensation and benefits, health and safety, company policies and HR best practices, in line with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Ensure that self and others adhere to A & H Steel’s health and safety practices and procedures.
- Focus on developing self and others through practicing living the company values every day.
- Participate in continuous trainings, coaching, and discussions about the values.
- General HR administration duties as needed.

**Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Proficiency with Google Calendar system
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to act with the strictest of confidentiality
- Completing or partial completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
- Strong understanding of employment law.
- Strong understanding of the OHS regulations.
