Your contribution
Under the supervision of the Vice-President, Human Resources and working in collaboration with the Director of Distribution, Ontario and the Regional Director of Stores operations in Ontario, the Human Resources Business Partner provide human resources support for management and team members, including recruiting and hiring applicants according to staffing needs, and conducting new team member orientation. Maintain close contact with corporate human resources to ensure compliance with Vast Auto policies and procedures, and provincial employment laws and regulations. Provide team member relations support and work with management and team members to ensure the highest level of morale and productivity. More specifically, he or she will accomplish the following essential functions:
Recruitment and Support for Store Operations
- Partner with management to assist with the recruiting process of regional open positions.
- Coordinate all hiring activity with HR Recruiter to ensure a consistent approach across the organization
- In conjunction with HR Recruiter, identify new sourcing strategies, job fairs and job boards to increase exposure
- Conduct new team member orientation, responsible for the timely completion of new hire paperwork, and benefit enrollment information.
- Assist in managing temporary/contract staff at sites; liaise with agency partners as required
- Answer questions from team members concerning benefits, insurance, and any personnel questions that may arise.
- Maintain performance evaluation schedule and coordinate distribution of performance evaluations, make sure that performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial laws and regulations
- Process team member status changes for approval and submit to corporate human resources.

Health and Safety
- Manage all work-related team member injuries. Responsible for the prompt reporting of all accidents to the claim administrator.
- Coordinate post-accident claim management with the injured team member’s supervisors and the safety representative.
- Ensure frequent communication with the injured team member, including contact by the team member's supervisor:

- Coordinate transitional modified early return to work, including a written “light duties” job. Work with the Safety Representative (if applicable) and the team members’ supervisor to ensure understanding and compliance with restrictions.
- Ensure workers’ compensation claims are handled accordingly
- Coordinate various training programs for team members and supervisors.

**Labour Relations**:

- Coordinate with the supervisors regarding grievances, the different steps of the grievances procedure. Assist the DC Manager in the grievance procedure.
- Investigate, analyze and exercise the right judgment to make appropriate decisions to resolve complex employee relations issues in accordance with the company’s policies.
- Prepare arbitration files as necessary.
- Assist in managing absenteeism for the organization, including documenting all employee absences and managing return to work
- Reporting
- Track various labour reports and turnover.
- Ensure compliance and familiarity with company policies, procedures, and other information. Responsible for ensuring that distribution and information flows properly from corporate to the supervisors and team members.

**Training and support**:

- Responsible for training all communication systems and tools. Coordinate various training programs for team members and supervisors.
- Attend supervisors' meetings, updating supervisors on HR and administration information.
- Coordinate information from all departments and work with internal communications.
- All other duties as assigned.

Your qualifications
- A College degree or the equivalent.
- Five years in a Human Resources Role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and perform them accurately.
- Must be able to work closely and well with others in a team environment.
