**The Position**:
This role is part-time (4 hours a day) with the possibility of more hours down the road. The optimal schedule for this job is 4 hours x 4 weekdays a week - likely in the mornings, but some afternoons depending on the planned events. As well, every other Saturday for 4 hours.

We are looking for a dynamic and outgoing individual to support our Life Enrichment Coordinator. The successful applicant for this position will be a team player who plays an integral role in supporting the health and wellness of our residents. They will be able to work collaboratively in their role, take pride in a job well done and be able to multitask. They will enjoy working with seniors and look forward to interactions.
- Assists with the institution of internal and external programs that enriches the lives of each resident.
- Assists with the management of the volunteer program, including orientation, motivation and development of the volunteers.
- Assists with planning and organizing of the monthly activity schedule offering a variety of activities, crafts and events.
- Assists with the execution through the volunteers and other resources, the monthly activities schedule.
- Creates an enjoyable, relaxed and entertaining environment in the residence and assumes responsibility for the morale and well-being of residents.
- Communicate with residents on a regular basis.
- Assists with planning, organizing, writing and publishing a monthly newsletter containing a variety of articles and information for distribution to the residents and their families.
- Maintain positive relationships with community organizations.
- Participate in conferences and instructional courses.
- Be aware and react to special needs including but not limited to:

- Tuck shop
- Arts and crafts
- Music events
- Fund raising
- Cocktail bar
- Regular parties
- Exercises
- Cooking
- Counselling
- Community events
- Educational functions
- Library services
- Therapeutic recreations

**Qualifications**:

- Secondary education.
- Experience in a retirement residence. Specific life enrichment experience is an asset.
- Be able to read, write and comfortably communicate in English.
- Able to perform physical work.
- Fun to be with, organized, sensitive, enthusiastic, patient, tactful and mature.
- Must be able to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff, volunteers, residents and families.
- Experience in planning, organizing and managing events is an asset.
- Current certification in First-Aid and CPR.
- Driver’s licence required, with good driving record (past three years)
- Ability/willingness to obtain a bus licence.
