**The Opportunity**
Our British Columbia and Yukon headquarters is seeking a Provincial Instructor Mentor for our Learning, Development, and Standards (LDS) team. You are an extraordinary communicator who will be mentoring and monitoring current instructors across the province. You will ensure that all duties and responsibilities are completed accurately and delivered with high quality, in a timely and professional manner. This includes ensuring a quality image conveyed by St. John Ambulance BC & Yukon, at all times, and consistently and effectively communicating the St. John Ambulance vision. This position may require working overtime, weekends, and travelling to various parts of BC and Yukon.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Work with the Instructor Care Specialist to coordinate with branches, experienced instructors, instructor-trainers, and monitors for team teaching and monitoring;
- Monitor instructors during their initial certification and as a part of the routine/competency process;
- Provide on the field mentoring to instructors;
- Assist with “in class” instructor/client issues/disputes;
- Answer questions regarding course standards, equipment, materials, and instructional policies that branch staff may have;
- Teach classes as needed;
- Be available outside of typical business hours (i.e. overtime, weekends); and
- Travel to various parts of BC and Yukon, as needed.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Fluent in English;
- Organized and self-motivated;
- Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal);
- Strong conflict resolution skills;
- Current IDP/GFA instructor;
- Current EFI instructor; and
- Current monitor.
