**Job Overview**

SRG is recruiting a **Material Coordinator**to join our team for upcoming projects in Saskatchewan. As a Material Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials required for the project. Your role will involve ensuring the availability of the right materials at the right time, while maintaining accurate inventory records and minimizing material waste. You will work closely with project managers, vendors, and suppliers to coordinate the delivery and handling of materials, ensuring that all materials meet quality standards and project specifications. Additionally, you will assist with material ordering, stock monitoring, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to material storage and handling. Your role will be crucial in ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget by efficiently managing material logistics and ensuring timely deliveries.

**Responsibilities**
- Verify and maintain item libraries and bill of material data from internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy in the material management system.
- Create and process requisitions for temporary materials and services, track approvals, and submit them to procurement.
- Expedite outstanding or overdue purchase orders to maintain project timelines.
- Receive and process logistics information for incoming shipments, coordinating with clients, suppliers, and carriers; inform operations personnel of delivery details.
- Manage system transactions for various materials and equipment, including purchase orders, material received reports (MRRs), over, short, and damage (OS&D) reports, inventory change records, pick tickets, and transfers/shipments.
- Coordinate OS&D resolution with clients, project teams, procurement, and suppliers as required.
- Oversee preservation, preventative maintenance, and certification transactions, ensuring timely servicing, repairs, and re-certifications.
- Organize inventory and handle surplus materials, equipment, and temporary facilities, arranging returns for credit, client transfers, or demobilization.
- Dispatch carriers for off-site shipments and coordinate logistics.
- Generate, distribute, and maintain material management reports for project tracking.
- Train and support other material coordinators, tradespeople, project coordinators, and staff on material management procedures, project plans, and system usage.
- Provide guidance to trades personnel working in warehouses, tool cribs, and laydown yards.
- Perform additional duties as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Construction trade certification with relevant experience, **or**a post-secondary diploma/degree in Supply Chain Management or a related construction field, **or** three years of project-based or industry-related supply chain experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures.
- Familiarity with common construction materials, services, tools, and equipment.
- Basic understanding of project life cycles, supply chain management, storage facility operations, logistics, and material distribution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Excellent time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including problem-solving, team collaboration, and accountability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new technology and systems; experience with material management systems is an asset.
- Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis.
