**Airport Maintenance Support** (AMS) team members**,** report directly to the Building Mechanical Supervisor under the department of Facilities and Environmental Sustainability. AMS are responsible for the continuous improvement of airport establishments while managing projects in collaboration with contractors and stakeholders.

**Airport Maintenance Support Basic Requirements**:

- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License and the ability to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit.
- Physical fitness: Able to stand, walk, squat, kneel, and perform manual tasks indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
- Technical proficiency: Experienced in operating basic hand and power tools.
- Blueprint literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications.
- Security clearance eligibility: Must be able to secure a Government of Canada clearance to work in restricted airport areas.
- Educational background: College diploma or certificate from a technical program such as Mechanical Technician, Instrumentation Technician, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum three years of recent, relevant work experience involving advanced technical skills with building and mechanical systems.
- Language skills: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English

**Airport Maintenance Support Additional Qualifications**:
**Safety compliance**: Proven ability to adhere strictly to procedures and safety protocols.

**Contract performance monitoring**: Experienced in overseeing and evaluating contractor work and performance.

**Time management**: Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.

**Shift Work**: Willingness and Ability to work pre-determined hours based on shift work schedules

**Communication skills**: Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, colleagues, and management through clear oral and written communication, including effective follow-up with customers, project managers, and contractors.

**Physical requirements**: Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work, including working in potentially hazardous environments (e.g., confined spaces, near active mechanical systems), conducting emergency repairs outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions, climbing ladders and scaffolding, lifting heavy objects, kneeling, stooping, and working in cramped or awkward positions.

Pay: $35.60 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
