**Position Purpose**:
We are currently looking for a Communications Advisor to join a team of high performing professionals who strive to be creative and proactive, earn trust and respect, and achieve excellence. This position will report to the Manager, Corporate Communications.

Plan and execute IO’s industry stakeholder relations strategy; support VP, Communications in the engagement and maintenance of relationships (formal and informal) with industry associations, including multilateral industry tables and bilateral industry relationships; lead engagements and relationships with key industry partners to identify and develop opportunities that support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives by business units; collaborate with strategic partnerships team as well as procurement, legal, and project delivery teams regarding industry stakeholder issues; advising the Manager, VP Communications and Senior Management Team/CEO on strategies and tactics for stakeholder relations.

**What You Will Do**:

- Draft, plans, and executes deliverables of industry stakeholder relations strategy by strategically maintaining relationships with industry associations and identify opportunities and potential issues as part of ongoing stakeholder management work.
- Analyze, advise, and inform development of stakeholder maps specific to other sector stakeholders such as health care, affordable housing, long-term care, and education for individual project teams
- Recommend, develop and guide coordination of issue/opportunity specific working groups and sessions.
- Develop regular monthly reporting on stakeholder relationships and/or events to identify trends and help prioritize opportunities that support IO’s strategy.

**Who We're Looking For**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
- You must possess a minimum of five years of experience in communications, media, marketing or public relations, with a focus on stakeholder relations.
- 5-7 years’ experience in developing and implementing strategic communications and issues management plans, developing communication products, stakeholder relations and managing special events.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, sound judgement and strong analytical skills.
- Experience or knowledge of public sector, construction or transit sectors is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Advanced influential/negotiation skills sufficient to recognize and respond to underlying concerns of multiple interests and to oversee/shape making choices in situations that involve complexity and ambiguity.
- Strong management skills are essential to inspire a highly professional and diverse workforce.
