This position entails working with Programmable Logic Controllers and developing Human Machine Interfaces to run various automated Process Water Management systems. Our Automation Specialist will be able to interpret electrical, mechanical, and process designs/drawings, integrate this information into the PLC/HMI control system, and test this integration during Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Tests to ensure that all design requirements have been met. There will also be opportunities to do hands on mechanical and electrical work, both in the office/shop and on job sites.

Kontek is also in the process of updating existing systems to integrate the newest and most up-to-date controls software and hardware. You will be working with several different PLC & HMI programming software platforms, and will learn a variety of programming styles, both new and old.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Interpreting and troubleshooting PLC & HMI logic
- Writing/correcting PLC & HMI code
- Interpreting and troubleshooting electrical engineering drawings
- Interpreting mechanical and process engineering drawings
- Analyzing and designing solutions to process control problems
- Perform system integration by testing system hardware, software, and various electrical/mechanical/process related components
- Perform on-site service work at various customer locations

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience with software including: Rockwell FactoryTalk View / RSLogix 500 / RSLogix 5000, Siemens TIA Portal (with WinCC and Step 7)
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work well on a team and take initiative independently
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD would be an asset
- Experience working hands-on with electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, etc. would be an asset

- Valid passport and ability to travel globally

Pay: $55,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
