As the Maintenance Supervisor for Water Treatment, you are responsible for overseeing all planned, routine, and emergency maintenance work at Transmission Stations, Bearspaw Plant, and Glenmore Plant. Primary duties include:
- Supervising a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the execution of preventive maintenance (PM), support of plant improvements, and repairs for both process and non-process systems. The supervisor will ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct annual planning and prioritization for the area as well as participation in the longer-term strategic planning and budget processes.
- Oversee and assess the completion of Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance, ensuring work is conducted effectively and efficiently.
- Investigate process upsets, equipment failures, safety incidents, root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Liaison with internal and external teams. E.g., Operations, Engineering, Maintenance planning, project delivery teams and contractors.
- Lead, mentor, develop staff including hiring, performance management, employee development, engagement, and succession planning.
- Manage short term and long-term people resources within Maintenance and coordinate resources with other Water Treatment sections as required.
- Promote a safe workplace by contributing to safety meetings, performing regular workplace inspections and ensure staff are adhering to policies.
- Lead maintenance projects and initiatives as well as participating in projects and initiatives across the section and division.
**Qualifications**
- A valid Journeyman Electrical certificate or equivalent recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training board and at least of 8 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- Relevant supervisory experience is required.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending.
- A Blue Seal or management certificate would be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of electrical code, with the ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
**Working Conditions**:Work will include exposure to odors, noise, high and low ambient temperatures, water, chemicals, traffic and various weather conditions.**Pre-employment Requirements**
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
