The Technical Documentation Specialist will work closely with engineers, designers and project managers to collect technical information and compile clear and concise technical documentation that is critical to project planning and execution.

**Education and Work Experience**:

- Post secondary diploma or degree in a related field
- 1-3 years' experience working in an environment with established document/quality control practices
- Preferred: 5-10 years’ in technical writing with experience in mining or construction.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare scope of work, technical specifications and request for proposal documents to support procurement activities
- Create standard operating procedures
- Develop Management/Execution Plans (Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Commissioning, Construction, etc.)
- Compile data and write Basis of design, design criteria, functional description documents
- Assist engineers to create technical reports and publications
- Assist with document control and quality control functions
- Creation and/or completion of fillable pdf documents, organizational charts, etc.
- Assist with proposal preparation.
- Maintain manuals and implement changes as required.
- Provide support in preparation of contracts.
- Edit technical papers/publications.

**Knowledge Required**:

- Knowledge of grammar, sentence structure, persuasive writing and style
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of document creation
- Ability to multi task and work effectively in a fast past environment where priorities continually change
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple requests
