**About the faculty/service**: Office of the Vice-President, International and Francophonie:
The Office of the Vice-President, International and Francophonie oversees the design, coordination and implementation of internationalization strategies across uOttawa. This includes establishing international private and public sector partnerships, supporting the internationalization of research and curricula, and expanding international opportunities for the uOttawa community. The Office is also mandated to carry the University's vision for the Francophonie and to promote its leadership role within the Ontario, Canadian and international Francophonie and its bodies, as set out in the University's new strategic plan, Transformation 2030.

**Position purpose**:
Reporting to the Director, International Experience, implements the strategic vision of the student mobility sector and manages the team that conducts all sector activities. Sets annual goals and priorities for the sector in an action plan that includes key performance indicators that align with the University’s strategy for internationalization.

Provides strategic advice and collaborates with stakeholders on interinstitutional agreements for student mobility, ensures that these agreements are properly managed and supervises initiatives and protocols related to the safety of international travel.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:
Leads and supervises the student mobility team and sets their annual goals and priorities. Establishes measurable indicators of success and uses evaluation tools to ensure that the mobility team reaches its goals. Identifies strengths and weaknesses to adjust actions as required.

Acts as a consultant on internal and external trends in student mobility best practices and strategies, and makes recommendations to increase the rate of student participation in uOInternational activities.

Evaluates and issues recommendations on uOttawa participation in interinstitutional agreements on student mobility. Manages current agreements to ensure they align with the strategic vision of uOInternational and contribute to achieving the University’s internationalization goals.

Manages external scholarships (e.g., Global Affairs Canada Emerging Leaders in the Americas exchange scholarships) and maintains close relationships with sponsor organizations (e.g., CBIE) and those who manage these scholarship programs.

Supervises initiatives and protocols related to the safety of international travel. Helps foster collaboration between units at the University of Ottawa that are involved in emergency situations related to University travel, such as Protection Services, the Office of Risk Management, the deans, etc.

**What you will bring**:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience.

At least 3 years’ experience in supervising a team

In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the university environments and administration, including programs of study, admission criteria, enrolment procedures, and all student services

Knowledge of international educational systems at both the undergraduate and graduate levels

Knowledge of various software suites

Experience in designing and implementing new projects, and skill in short
- and medium-term planning, setting performance indicators, and taking necessary action to meet objectives
