In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a full-time position of **Superintendent, Civil** reporting to the Project Manager. The Superintendent Civil will be responsible for all onsite facets of the civil construction project including; safety, quality, existing utility location and management, traffic management, construction of deep and shallow utilities, roadworks, cleanup, and commissioning and handover to the client. Your base location will be **Fort St. John, B.C. **and will require some travel throughout our great province.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE**
- Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job
- Provide management and direction to pipe foremen and crews
- A strong knowledge of the Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD)
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure schedules and budgets are being met
- Knowledge of all types of heavy equipment
- Attend and participate in all safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site
- Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions
- Review and adhere to project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met
- Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required
- Recommend ways to improve production, quality, and crew performance
- Ensure construction meets approved design specifications, drawings, and applicable codes
- Provide expertise on all pipelaying methods and processes

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the civil construction, engineering, or related discipline
- Clean Drivers Abstract is required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Experience with Heavy Job an asset
