**Position**: Project Manager
**Reports To**: Food Banks Alberta CEO
**Education**: A relevant post-secondary degree (business or project management)

**Purpose**:The Project Manager position, based in Alberta, includes conducting system infrastructure reviews, collaborative planning with our provincial food bank members, and developing training programs. The primary objective of this position is to strengthen Alberta’s network of food banks to assist vulnerable Albertans and their families in need.
**Compensation**:Commensurate with experience
**Term**:18-month, contract position
**Experience**:
- Proven experience as a project manager, preferably within a non-profit or similar setting, including strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- An understanding of the importance of charities and empathy toward the challenges faced by food banks.
- Knowledge of Food Insecurity.
- Commitment to and an understanding of the mission and values of Food Banks Alberta.
- Experience conducting system reviews and implementing process improvements.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering training programs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and address challenges proactively.
**Working Conditions & Other Requirements**:
- A security clearance check is required for this role.
- Province-wide travel is required for meetings with partners and stakeholders.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Use of own equipment.
**Responsibilities**:
**Under the authority and guidance of the CEO, the Project Manager is responsible for**:
**System Review**:
- Conduct a thorough review of existing systems, processes, and procedures within the organization to identify areas of improvement and inefficiencies.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to increase collaboration and capacity across our member networks.
- Collaborate with food bank members to gather requirements and develop strategies for system enhancements.
- Implement changes to optimize operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and improve data collection.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices.
**Training Development**:
- Analyze training needs and assess skill gaps within the organization.
- Develop training programs and materials to address identified needs.
- Design and deliver training sessions to staff, members, volunteers, board, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback.
- Continuously update and develop a system for long-term use.
- Enhance training materials based on feedback and emerging needs.
**Project Management**:
- Create and maintain project plans, including task assignments.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Regularly communicate project status, updates, and risks to relevant staff and members.
- Ensure necessary reporting requirements are met.
**Internal Food Bank Member Engagement**:
- Collaborate with food bank members across the province to gather input and requirements.
- Foster effective working relationships with team members, volunteers, and food bank members.
- Engage members in the system review and training development processes.
- Seek feedback and incorporate suggestions to improve processes and training initiatives.
- Improve communications through the development of a communications plan.
