**About the Role**
CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings_._

The Recreation Coordinator will:

- Ensure adolescents are involved in meaningful recreational activities.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team members to ensure the day-to-day unit operations are delivered.
- Provide guidance, support, supervision and case management to adolescents and their families in the program.
- Effectively liaise with resources in the community while also representing CASA Mental Health in a professional manner.
- Maintain and track recreation budget.
- Report patient safety events which could have or did cause patient harm.
- Strive to improve practice and procedures in order to improve service outcomes and patient safety.
- Lead by example in the area of occupational health and safety.
- Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum two-year diploma in a related field, such as child and youth care, mental health, recreation and leisure, or psychology, is required.
- One to two years’ experience working with children or adolescents in a recreation related field.
- Certification with Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta is an asset.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
